Laynie Ann: A Year In The Life
Cody and Allison’s journey to parenthood did not come easy. With time, patience, and the help of IVF, their rainbow baby was on the way. They knew every moment was going to be a blessing they didn’t want to miss - so Cody booked a Birth story as a Mother’s Day Gift for Allison.
“God has blessed us with this journey in all its trials and joyful moments and this would be an awesome way to capture them as well!” said Cody.
Poet Robey Burns said it best: the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. None proved this truer than birth during a pandemic.
Allison and Cody, however, didn’t even flinch. After patiently awaiting this pregnancy, that was the only thing that was important. For everything else, they adjusted. Including their birth story.
As hospitals limited visitors and birth photographers were not allowed in the doors, we pivoted.
Our birth story turned into Year In The Life Documentary stories, capturing moments from gender reveal to the first birthday.
But goodness, I have loved it! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed getting to be “part of the family” for a whole year of this sweet baby’s life. As a photographer, there is no better story experience.
Babies grow so fast in the first year. I wanted these photographs to represent the love that created and grew around this sweet girl, and the blessing that parenthood bestows on us - even when times are challenging.. And I’m pleased to say I did exactly that.
Allison, Cody, & Laynie, congratulations! Thank you for allowing me into your family; it was a joy to capture this year. I love and appreciate you and can’t wait to see who Laynie grows up to be.
