Spring Break was a lovely week spent back home in San Antonio, and I'll be honest - I'm not entirely ready to be back! Did you do anything fun this past week off from school? 🌮
While down in SA, I ran off to my favorite spot, @sabotgarden and just had a morning to myself. #mentalhealth 🌺
My love of gardening was probably triggered by the fact I grew up a block from this place. Everything was in bloom including dad's lush crop of Bluebonnets and the whole neighborhood smelled delicious, like Mountain Laurels, poppies, tulips, and everything else mixed in.

My favorite as always is the Huisache trees. I wish they grew here in FW. Nothing more fun than those yellow poms bursting with friendly color. If @karicrowe was a tree...

Thankfully, it's today is the first day of Spring and its warming up here in FW. I can't wait to see our own color bursting in FW gardens soon. I can't wait!

Dear new mom, You see that tear rolling down your cheek? That is your first tear officially as a mother.

That tear is full of joy, relief, pain, worry, and love - all wrapped up in one tiny drop.
You will have many more tears for your baby as time passes. Tears of happiness and joy, worry and sorrow, anger and frustration, exhaustion and exasperation... No matter what emotion fills your tears, they will always be filled with love for your baby.

So in those tearful moments, look back on this one tear, your first tear, and know that your tears are a release of all that emotion held inside you.

Release them and know that you are doing a great job because, through all of it, you do it with love.

I think there's a stigma when it comes to birth photography. My feed tends to fill with the graphic photos of birth. The is goal to normalize and bring positive awareness that birth is beautiful, and of that, I'm in total support. Some women love them and are completely empowered by them. ❤
But graphic money shots aren't every mother's cup of tea and cookies.

Birth photography can be beautiful and purposeful without all the graphic details.
I shoot as much or as little as my client's want for that reason - it's YOUR birth story. Occasionally I grab a few money shots because the moment is so perfect or unique. Otherwise, I shoot from angles that capture all the good stuff without the other stuff.
